73rd Annual SEAFOOD FESTIVAL

Category : Current News

Once again the Seafood Festival was a huge success! Hundreds flooded the town, got an amazing seafood lunch featuring salmon, sole, oysters, & chowder. They strolled through the museum grounds for checking out the craft booths and of course our hands on fish display. This year the star of the show was the five and half foot blue shark. Our display featured, salmon, ling cod, mackerel, halibut, perch, dog shark, sole, herring and various types of rock fish. Everyone enjoyed touching, holding and of course taking selfies with the various fish. Folks of all ages took part in exploring and learning about the species that are caught in the local area. In addition, we debuted a new sweatshirt design Dock to Dish to help encourage the purchase of local seafood to support our local commercial fishing industry. Sweatshirts are available for purchase on our website.
