Projects

Billboard Project 2017:
Ocean Companies, Pacific Seafood, D&M Live Crab, Westport Seafood LLC, Jolly Roger Seafood, WEfish, the Port of Grays Harbor, Englund Marine & Industrial, and Masco Petroleum went in on this together.

We thought it was a great way to educate the public on the volume of seafood landed in Westport and give a big “thank you” to those folks who head out to sea day after day to feed their families and feed the world!

Loaner Life Jacket Stations 2016:
In the fall of 2015, WEfish sought a grant from the Grays Harbor Community Foundation for 4 Loaner Life Jackets Stations to be installed in the Westport marina area, ensuring greater safety for tourists and local families. The Neddie Rose Farrington Endowment through The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound willingly supported the project and funded our grant! Each station holds roughly 10-12 lifejackets that are available for use. Multiple organizations from the Westport area such as the PSA Ocean Anglers Chapter, the South Beach Fire and EMS, Englund Marine & Industrial, and the Grays Harbor Sea Scouts support the idea and back the project through funding, solicitation of lifejackets and maintenance.

Josh Roehrich, a local fishermen and resident generously built the stations, and Humbyrd Machine & Welding donated all of the labor for fabrication the boxes. The stations are a bright spot of the marina- an improvement of safety, and an example of how many great groups can work together!

We are so grateful to see so much support for this project and look forward to completing the 3 additional stations around the marina.

You can donate lifejackets at our local Englund Marine & Industrial!
